Workshop on Development of Digitalized Tamil Encyclopedia
Kanithamizh Peravai of Vidhya Sagar Women’s College organized an One day workshop on Development of Digitalized Tamil Encyclopedia on 29th February 2020 by 10.00 am in the college premises. Mr.M.S.Arunkumar, Research Expert, Tamil Encyclopedia Project was the Chief Guest. Mr.Kalil Jhaheer, Senior Mobile Developer was the Special Guest.The Special Guest interacted with the students by giving thought provoking ideas on Usage of Liberated & Free Software and Ideology & Freedom of Software. Students from various colleges participated in the Powerpoint presentation competition on the topics, Sending Short Messages in Tamil’, ‘Using Tamil in Smartphones’, ‘Tamil Vocabulary in Technology, and ‘Creating Tamil Apps’. The Chief Guest distributed the prizes to the winners. G.Sneha, II B.Sc CS ‘A’, VSWC, S.Ramalakshmi & S.S.Aashika II B.Sc Chemistry, VSWC, N.Rakshna & M.Sushmitha, M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women won the first and second prizes respectively.

Vidhya Sagar Women’s College celebrated International Women’s Day on 6^th March 2020. Smt. Harshita Pandey, Advisor, National Women Commission, Government of India, Ex Chairperson, State Women Commission, Government of Chhattisgarh was the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest was honored by the management members. The Student Coordinators of various Clubs presented their Annual Report and received certificates for their achievements from the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest conveyed her women’s day wishes to all and appreciated the achievers. She addressed the gathering with great enthusiasm and shared valuable words on women empowerment, women emancipation and women education.

Infinithoughtsprogramme was held at Vidhyasagar Women’s College on 23th September 2019. Mr.SridharRanganathan Author of Infinithoughts was the Chief Guest.
The competition for the students: Visualize Your Thoughts, Caption Writing, Creative Writing, Reader’s Radar were conducted. In Visualize Your Thoughts, Department of Physics won the first prize.The winners of Caption Writing, Creative Writing, Reader’s Radar were honoured by the chief guest. The chief guest encouraged the students to develop their creative skills in the field of education.

VidhyaSagar Women’s College celebrated cultural day Milan Sagar on 19th Sept 2019. Mr. Naveen (KPY, VIJAY TV) was the Chief Guest and Mr. Anandh, Choreographer was the Special Guest. Mr. KPY Naveen, Mr. Anandh delighted the audience with their speech and performances.
Ms.Varsha, ( TITLE WINNER OF SARE GAMA PA, ZEE TAMIL ) was the Chief Guest and Mr. BharathDhamodaran, Music Director, Pianist was the special guest for the valedictory session. After honoring the Chief Guest, the session continued with Prize distribution for the winners of Milan Sagar competitions and the Overall Trophy was won by the Department of English.

Teacher’s Day was celebrated at VidyaSagar Women’s College on 30th August 2018. Correspondent Shri. VikasSuranaji, Treasurer Shri. Suresh Kankariaji, Director Shri. B.G Acharya ji, Principal Dr. C. Shalini were present on the occasion. Director Shri. B.G Acharya ji welcomed the gathering. Treasurer Shri. Suresh Kankariaji addressed the gathering with precious words on teaching field. Correspondent Shri. VikasSuranaji shared his life experience with the quote “Life is the best Teacher”. The faculties of VidhyaSagar Institution were honored with shields by the management.

Free Health Camp was organized by NSS, RRC, YRC, ROATARACT, CCC and KARUNA & ENVIRO CLUB students of VidhyaSagar Women’s college on 18th August 2019 in association with KarpagaVinayaga Institute of Medical Sciences, Mahaveer International &M.N.Eye Hospital, Sri Ranga Nursing Home and JSP Hospitals. Chief Guest Shri.R Dinesh Lakhawat Secretary, Mahaveer International Hospital inaugurated the function. He appreciated the college for this initiative and suggested to focus towards making rural people aware of how they can maintain a healthy lifestyle by undertaking various preventive measures. Many people from in and around the villages were the beneficiaries through this camp.

The School of Humanities Association was inaugurated on 18^th July 2019, in Vidhya Sagar Women’s College. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr. S. Arulsamy , Assistant Professor, Great Lakes Institute of Management. The association office bearers were introduced and honoured with badges. The Annual Report of the concerned departments was presented by Ms.S.Rekha III BA English, Ms.B Pavithra Bai III B.COM and Ms.R Divya II BBA. The Chief Guest addressed the students by his elegant speech on Karma yoga and the growth of technology. He advised the students to be good in holistic learning and human relations. He informed the students about the value of life and how to use a technology without affecting the life.

The Resource Person Mrs. Bhavani, from University of Jyväskylä, Finland explored the theme collaboration from the dimensions of what collaboration means to the student teachers, how to define its meaning further by what they want to achieve as a team collectively.Moving on, she made them explore collaborative classrooms, the features and building lesson plan ideas that allow for collaborative learning.

Humour is the most effective and important ingredient to spice up the dish of life. Humor is the one thing which is enjoyed by all. . Humor Club was inaugurated on 23.10.2018.
