Tamizhar Parambariya Vizha was celebrated on 12th January, 2023 (Thursday) at 10.30 am in the college Bhagavan Mahaveer Swami Auditorium. Mrs. J. Udhaya Karunakaran , Union Chairman, Kattankolathur Panchayat Union, Chengalpattu District, was the Chief Guest. Dr. R. Rekha, HOD of Tamil Dept., delivered the welcome address. Mrs. Snehalatha, Chairperson Mr. Vikas Surana, Correspondent, and Dr. R. Arunadevi, Principal(Ii/ c) were present. The Correspondent honored the guest. The Chief Guest inspired by her wonderful special address that all of us should have moral values, responsibilities, discipline, hope, happiness. She added that all should utilize the opportunities which we get in our life and women’s contribution is needed for the growth of the country.

The manuscript “Muthuchitharal” was released by the Chief Guest. Then the cultural performances were done by the students. Prizes were distributed to the winners. Vote of thanks was delivered by K. Pavithra, II Comp. Science. The programme ended with the National Anthem.

Our Vidhya Sagar Women’s College of Education students and Teaching Faculties went to Innovative school visit Chengalpattu. Our B.Ed students donated Rice, Pulses, Biscuits, Soap etc for the students in the orphanage annexed in the school building.Our B.Ed student teachers interacted with the Mentally chanllenged children of that orphanage. The main objective of this visit to this innovative school was fulfilled by observing the students classroom atmosphere, the teaching methodology followed & by interacting with those students.

The 17th College Day of Vidhya Sagar Women’s College was celebrated on 30th April 2022., Saturday, 10.30 am in the college premises. On this special day, Dr. E. Khalieraaj, Director, National Cyber Safety & Security Standards, New Delhi was our chief guest, Sri Sreekesh Pai, Circle Head, Axis Bank Ltd., Chennai, the Presiding Guest, Mr. Ashok Jain ji, Correspondent Sri. Vikas Surana, Treasurer Sri. Suresh Kandaria, , Principal Dr. Shalini and Vice Principal Dr, Aruna Devi were present over the function. The Annual Report was read by the Principal Dr. Shalini.

Inaugural address was by the Chief Guest. He said that women and girls get unwanted experiences in different forms from public spaces both in urban and rural settings in their everyday occurrence.. This reality reduces women’s and girls’ freedom of movement. were very happy and excited to attend and perform in Felicitation and distribution of certificates of merit in due acknowledgement to the students of the college for their exemplary performance in different academic pursuits the annual day programme. The newly doctorate scholars were too awarded. The celebration began with an invocation dance by a group of students. College e-magazine of our college was released by the honorable Chief guest.

SAP – Students Adoption Programme is conducted in our Vidhya Sagar Women’s College of Education periodically. This programme is conducted in our college with the aim of providing a college preparatory, faith based education to students which prevent them from so many obstacles that affect their education.
As an introductory session a meeting was conducted with the Faculty Members by the Principal.
Then periodically SAP sessions are conducted in our college. Every Faculty member has a session with a student individually. The students freely express their experiences, thoughts, problems in those sessions. It is in a discussion & Interaction Pattern. And according to the problems faced by the students suggestions are given by the Faculty Members in the form of Guidance in Various aspects such as Academic, Personal, Vocational & Health, Personality related, Social related, emotions etc.
Then after the session the Mentor (Faculty Members) submits a feed back and report about the session they had with the students.

Our Cultural Day was celebrated as Milan Sagar ’22 on 29.04.2022 presided by the Chief guest Mr. T. S. Ranganathan , Director, Giri Trading agency (P) Ltd., Television fame personalities Mr. Adithya Krishna and Ms. Reshma Shyam, Super Singers, Vijay TV as the Special guest for the extravaganza cultural fiesta.

The celebration started with lighting the lamp by the Chief guest, Special guest and the Management dignitaries. At next, as the icon of tradition, our students performed an invocation dance. Then there was an Host performance given by our students on the theme Women Wonders with Seven Wonders of the world. Our Band girls rocked with a medley, at last our Theme dance Winners performed on the theme Rain. The day was filled with Fun, Enjoyment, Happiness and Enthusiasm of our students. The Celebrity Singers Mr. Adithya Krishna and Ms. Reshma Shyam performed on stage few of the film songs. Our Chief Guest gave his speech on Values of Life to motivate our students.

Finally, Sparx ’21 Intra-Collegiate competitions winners were felicitated by the Chief guest on distribution of prizes and the Overall Championship rolling Trophy was won by the Department of English.
